SAP Integration
You can integrate your SAP systems with Tonkean to automate and orchestrate processes that live in SAP, whether it's accessing customer master data or leveraging invoices and contracts for your procurement process.
Your unique SAP implementation and configuration determines what integration options are available, and what's required to set up the integration. Refer to the table below for an overview of available API options and the relevant integration requirements.
SAP System | API and Connection Options | Integration Requirements and Required Effort |
---|---|---|
S/4HANA Cloud, public edition |

S/4HANA, private cloud and on-premise | An SAP Gateway may be required. Alternatively, users can leverage IDocs.
| Users must complete the following steps:
S/4HANA Cloud private and on-prem deployments support generally the same APIs and API packages as the public edition, but with additional barriers to connection. |
SAP ECC 6.0 | An SAP Gateway is required.
| Depending on your instance, you may need to configure an SAP Gateway or use a messaging broker (middleware service) to transfer IDoc messages. Due to its architecture as a legacy system, SAP ECC 6.0 may require additional configuration and customization compared to S/4HANA deployments. |
Supported SAP Versions
Tonkean can integrate with SAP ERP ECC 6.0 and later.
