15. Maker Course - Publish the Solution

After creating a request intake module, including custom interfaces, conditional logic, and workspace app pages, you're nearing the end of the course! All that's left to do is

Follow Along:

  1. In the module builder, select Create Version. The Create a new version window displays.

  2. Enter a description for your module version (for example, "V0: Initial launch"), then select Create Version. The Create a new version window closes.

  3. Select Mark for Publish. The Mark Module as "Ready for Publishing" window displays.

  4. Select Next > Next > Yes, Continue, then enter a brief description of the version in the Describe your change field (for example, "Initial Publish"). When finished, select Mark for Publish. The window closes.

    The options presented in these modals are not relevant for us at this point. For more information about the solution publishing process, see Publish a Solution.

  5. Select the solution name in the upper left. The Solution screen displays.

  6. In the Workspace App section, select the My Orders page. The Workspace App screen displays.

  7. Locate the My Orders page and select Edit. The page builder displays.

  8. In the same manner as with the modules, select Create Version. The Create a new version window displays.

  9. Enter a description for your page version (for example, "V0: Initial launch"), then select Create Version. The Create a new version window closes.

Create Module Version and Mark for Publish

  1. In the module builder, select Create Version. The Create a new version window displays.

  2. Enter a description for your module version (for example, "V0: Initial launch"), then select Create Version. The Create a new version window closes.

  3. Select Mark for Publish. The Mark Module as "Ready for Publishing" window displays.

  4. Select Next > Next > Yes, Continue, then enter a brief description of the version in the Describe your change field (for example, "Initial Publish"). When finished, select Mark for Publish. The window closes.

    The options presented in these modals are not relevant for us at this point. For more information about the solution publishing process, see Publish a Solution.

Create Page Versions and Mark for Publish

  1. Select the solution name in the upper left. The Solution screen displays.

  2. In the Workspace App section, select the My Orders page. The Workspace App screen displays.

  3. Locate the My Orders page and select Edit. The page builder displays.

  4. In the same manner as with the modules, select Create Version. The Create a new version window displays.

  5. Enter a description for your page version (for example, "V0: Initial launch"), then select Create Version. The Create a new version window closes.

  6. Select Mark for Publish. The Mark Page as "Ready for Publishing" window displays.

  7. Select Next, then enter a brief description of the version in the Describe your changes field. When finished, select Mark for Publish. The window closes.

  8. Select the workspace app page dropdown above the page builder and select the All Orders page.

  9. Repeat steps #4-7 above to create a page version and mark the page for publish.

Publish the Solution and Turn On the Module

  1. Return to the Solution screen and select Publish Solution in the upper right. The Publish solution to Production environment window displays.

  2. Select Continue > Publish Now. The solution is published to Production.

  3. On the Solution screen, locate the Intake module and select Editor. The module builder displays.

  4. Select the environment picker in the upper right, then select Production. The module switches to Production mode.

  5. Select the toggle in the upper right to turn on the module in Production mode. A confirmation window displays.

  6. Select Turn On. The confirmation window closes and the module is turned on in Production mode.

Display Workspace App in Homepage

  1. On the Solution page, select one of your workspace app pages. The Workspace App screen displays.

  2. Select App Properties in the upper right. The App Properties window displays.

  3. Turn on the Show in Homepage toggle.

  4. Rename the workspace app Name to "Plushy Orders".

  5. When finished, select Save.

  6. Select the main nav icon, grid.png, in the upper left and select the Homepage. The Homepage screen displays.

Place an Order in Production Mode

  1. From the Homepage screen, select the Place New Order button. The Request Information interface displays.

  2. Enter the relevant information into each interface field, then select Finish. The interface is submitted and you're redirected to the Request Details tracking interface.

  3. Navigate to the workspace app to see the new request included in the My Orders and All Orders page.
